There are a lot of choices on Earth Day for ways to help the planet – maybe too many choices! It can be a little overwhelming, whether you are taking the opportunity to get started on something new or if you already try to make every day Earth Day.
The One Chicken Fest philosophy tells us that it’s always best to start small. If you feel like getting involved in that big event or rally, great! But if you are feeling so overwhelmed by it all that you end up doing nothing and then feeling guilty about it afterwards, that doesn’t do anyone any good! Instead, pick something small to do. Who knows, if it is something you’ve been meaning to do for awhile or just something that proves easy and fun to do, maybe it will end up being something you do on a regular basis rather than just once a year. Maybe head to the local Farmer’s Market. Maybe gather up some clutter in your house and donate it. Maybe look up the closest recycling center like you’ve been meaning to do. Maybe just find a local and sustainable restaurant for a nice lunch! Like drops of water in a pond, it’s those small things that add up to big change.
