Get ready to make some room in the house by clearing out your dusty old electronics! Got stuff you want to get rid of but you aren’t sure how to make sure they don’t end up in the landfill? No one wants their old electronics leaking toxic chemicals into the ground, right?
We are partnering with Homeboy Recycling and Moby’s Organic Coffee & Tea Shop in North Hollywood to help you properly dispose of your old cellphones, computer towers, laptops, TV’s, etc. that are lying around in your closets collecting dust and taking up space.
Bring your small stuff in anytime from now until Sunday, December 2nd at 2 pm to Moby’s at 5668 Cahuenga Blvd in North Hollywood and drop it off in the provided bin. Charles will be onsite December 2nd from 12-2pm to collect any large items and televisions.
What is e-waste?
Electronic waste (e-waste) contains heavy metals and toxic substances that are very detrimental to the environment if not properly disposed of. One Chicken Fest and Moby’s want to make it easy for you to get rid of these things safely and properly!
So what can you bring in? Pretty much anything with a cord!
If you have larger items that won’t fit in the bin, or television or computer monitors, we will be onsite Sunday, December 2 from 12-2pm to collect those. State law requires that we collect your name and address to recycle monitors, so that is why those can’t just be dropped off – it will only take a minute, and you can get yourself a delicious organic coffee drink while you are there!
Please note that we can’t take batteries or light bulbs, and also can’t take air conditioners, refrigerators and other large appliances, or thermostats and other mercury-containing equipment. Thank you!
